Enjoying the quiet today and beginning work on Chapter 3 today of my Book. I am really trying to set a deadline for the manuscript. Aiming for August... Fingers crossed and maybe with a little creative juices flowing I can finish it on time.... I am really excited!!! Sneak Reveal: "Samara's Captivity" be the the first series in my Portfolio on my journey to becoming an Author. "Shackled" will be Book 1 release. Looking forward to bringing Samara's journey to life for so many readers... Can't Wait!!!!

In this installment of Indebted we get a glimpse of Jethro Hawk and the battle that arises between him and his gift Nila Weaver. Nila pushes the boundaries in her resilience as she wages war to fight for her freedom. Her plan has Jethro in sight with a Bulleye's on his back. She will test his patience, his will, his loyalty, and she will push the barriers that have long been in place. Jethro is captivated by her and finds his ice quickly thawing by the very calculated Nila. To her own surprise, she may be in for a different kind of captivity. One that may backfire and ensnare them both. In First Debt you can expect to see a power struggle between Jethro and Nila that will change the dynamics of these characters. This dynamic brings alot of surprises to light and turns the tables on what you thought you would expect. This is a book filled with unanswered questions that will drive you mad, answers that will have you questioning the direction of the book, and a roller coaster ride that keeps you coming back for more.
This book is just a glimpse into the debts that must be repaid. Basically History 101 and the initial development of Jethro and Nila's journey. I have seen and read many mixed reviews on this book before I read it. So my review is coming from a very personal place. We always want to ask questions, give answers, and try to figure out why an author is taking a book or characters into the direction they are going. The thing I like best about this book is that Pepper Winters evokes that emotion in you, those questions you need answers for, and she drags it out so that it really does become unbearable which is the precise reason you are compelled to continue the series. You want to know how it plays out, to learn the whys and why nots. I will give it to her she will leave you with cliffhanger after cliffhanger. Kudos to her!!!

Pepper Winters takes us into some very dark and shall i say medieval ways of thinking in this book. The story line revolves around too families with bad blood going back as far as 600 years and a debt that stands until today. The Hawks and The Weavers. Arch Enemies tied by a debt that seems to be unbreakable. In this book, we meet Nila who is by all means a fashion socialite and comes from a family of hard work and wealth. However, she is about to have to carry the burden of the sins of her ancestors. In a time when there really was barbaric justice her family signed a debt inheritance giving over the first born Weaver daughter to the Hawk Family. In the first book of this series we learn of the sins of her ancestors and what price they hold for Nila. This is a very dark book and if you are looking for Romance, this is not your book. The Hawks hold up the Debt Inheritance as law and god help anyone who tries to disrupt the way they have done things for over 600 years. They are out to make the Weavers pay and this time it is Nila's turn. But don't fear as there is always a man of interest and in this case it is Jethro Hawk. He is the lucky Hawk who now has a Weaver girl for a birthday present and along with it the responsibility to carry out the debt inheritance onto her. Fascinating twists and turns await....
This is a very riveting book. I found myself filled with many emotions and honestly I couldn't put it down. I was angry at the injustices, empathetic to the characters, abhorred at the thought of some of the acts and my heart ached for Nila. Not only for the debt and the burden she faces but for a family that cannot move on and let the past die. There seems to be no justice in this book and it is sad. But I think that is what compells to me as a reader. When a book can make me so emotionally invested it is a great read. As far as kink factor, yeah Pepper doesn't disappoint although the kink factor is not quite on that high of a level. It is pretty timid and mild in this installment.

Pepper Winters Tribute
Ok so there is no denying that I have fallen head over heals for Pepper Winters Novels. OMG!! These are books that you can't put down. She has a vivid imagination that takes us to the darkest places and back. I don't know about you all but I have fallen in love with those DARK PLACES.... Upcoming I will be posting reviews on the her series Indebted... Of course the next one doesn't release until August 11th but you can bet I will have it the day it releases and I will post that review within 2 days... I simply adore her writing style and hope you all enjoy the book reviews. As much as I love Pepper, you can expect to see reviews coming from other authors as well. As soon as I bang out these reviews, I will be following up to a review for author Abby Weeks.... Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave any feedback. Pepper Winters takes us on an amazing journey with the
final installment of the Monsters in the Dark Series. On
this journey we witness the strength of Q stripped away
and see him at his weakest and most vulnerable. As he is
taken into captivity and tortured to the brink of death. It is in
this moment that we see Tess reborn and finally
becoming free to be her true self. She must break free of
the remaining shackles the grief and pain she has suffered
to rescue her Monster. I like that this story takes us
through so many ups and downs and turns and twists.
While it is most common to see the man swoop in and
save the woman, this story allows us a glimpse at a
couple who have the chance to save one another. The
series closes with a most wonderful ending where two
people who are simply and undeniably met for one
another, who are counterparts, and are the missing pieces
to link together and make a whole are able to overcome
loss, pain, grief, struggle, and emotional turmoils. They
balance one another out and Tess beings enough light to
the Monster in Q and he rightfully brings the right amount
of darkness to her. There is a balance in this powerful
dynamic and I honestly felt their journey in my soul.
This is one of those series that you sit back and say
NOOOO I don't want it to end. These characters speak to
the darkness and light in myself. I really do believe that this
book ended the series perfectly and that the ending was
deserving with what these characters fought and
overcame. Phenomenal READ!!!

In Book 2 of the Monsters in the Dark series, Pepper Winters does an outstanding job bringing to life the complexity and darkness of Q. She shows up his struggle, takes up deep in the raging storm of chaos that battles inside of him between what is good and evil. Q is a soul on fire. He battles the demons of his childhood and locks himself away from the very thing he hates but that part is with him. Tess came into his life and shattered his resolve. She awakes the monster inside and all the while feeds the darkness that he has struggled to cage. This nail biting story shows us two characters who both have to come to face a part of themselves that they never wanted to face. But on this road to release, there are heart stoppers. Q has to come to terms with the fact that Tess is stolen from him and the despair that he may never see her again sends him down a dark path of destruction, murder, and rage. Rage so bright there is nothing that will stop him until he has her back. He will unleash his monster to bring her home. Pepper leaves us almost as broken as Tess is by the time Q is able to locate her and bring her home. Tess is broken. She has locked herself away in a tower far from the extreme unthinkable situations she was forced to in captivity. Somehow, helpless and out of ideas, Q has to battle to find a way to bring her back from the depths of darkness that have swallowed her. He makes the ultimate sacrifice at a last ditch effort to save his Tess from being lost forever.
Captivating, Riveting, and Gut wrenching. This book will take you places so dark you see no light. Then it brings you hope when all seemed lost. I found myself caught up in the characters struggle, their nightmares, the love that has to be strong enough to provide the healing that is needed in this book. I love that in order for these characters to save one another they have to be broken almost beyond repair to heal one another. This book made me question a lot of things in life. The depth of need and love one can have and truly the sacrifices and unthinkable acts one would go to to save the one they love. The hunger and need between these two characters is soul gripping. This book is a wonderful read and will leave you yearning for more of the journey with Maitre and Esclave.. Q and Tess... One another's Monsters in the Dark.

Three little words. I was Sold.
Pepper Winters takes us into twists and turns with Monsters in the Dark. The story line is one that will captivate you, have you on the edge of your seat, heart racing, adrenaline pumping, and gut wrenching in the blink of an eye. In the next moment, you are caught up in feelings, emotions, and yes fire between the thighs. Monsters in the Dark brings to life the story of Tess, who is kidnapped while on vacation in Mexico and endures human sex trafficking. The journey takes you through the despair and the dark world of hopelessness and when all seems lost, Pepper delivers a savior in the form of a Monster. This monster though is complicated and sexy and freedom. Irony that Tess finds true freedom in the arms of the owner she was sold to. Q represents many things in his role in this book. Things are never as they seem and every time you turn a page, you are surprised with the depth of this character. He is a savior and healer to many, rescuing broken slaves in the human trafficking world and making sure they are "fixed" and returned home to their families. All while he battles a darkness inside that is slowly his undoing. But everything changes the moment that Tess is delivered to his door. He finds his counter part, his healer, his equal, his monster in the dark. This is just the beginning into the darkness of Tess and Q, a slave and her Monster destined to both destroy and heal one another.
This is a very captivating book. I found myself absorbed by the complexity of these characters. The BDSM in this story starts out light/medium but progresses with the intensity of these characters. If you are looking for some hardcore, heart racing, blood pumping action this series is a definite read. By far, I recommend this series as a must read. Pepper Winters is an amazing author with a very vivid imagination that hits at the core.
